چکیده

We show that a way to detect experimentally the existence of triple gluon coupling and the Adler-Bell-Jackiw anomaly is to measure the Q2dependence of polarized deep inelastic scattering. These effects lead to a Rn Rn Q2 term which we calculate by introducing a new gluon operator in the Wilson expansion. Remarks on Next-to-Leading Order Analysis of Polarized Deep Inelastic Scattering Data

Since the x dependence of the axial-anomaly effect in inclusive polarized deep inelastic scattering is fixed, the transformation from the MS scheme to different factorization schemes are not arbitrary. If the quark spin distribution is demanded to be anomaly-free so that it does not evolve with Q and hard gluons contribute to the first moment of g1(x), then all the moments of coefficient and sp...

Adler-bell-jackiw Anomaly and Fermion-number Breaking in the Presence of a Magnetic Monopole

In ( V A) theories, fermion number is broken in the presence of the 't Hooft-Polyakov magnetic monopole through the Adler-Bell-Jackiw anomaly. An exactly solvable zeroth-order approximation for evaluating Green functions of zero-angular-momentum fermions in the presence of a monopole is developed in the case of an SU(2) model with massless left-handed fermions. Within this approximation the den...

Current-Target Correlations as a Probe of ∆G/G in Polarized Deep Inelastic Scattering

The measurement of the polarized gluon distribution function ∆G/G using currenttarget correlations in the Breit frame of deep inelastic scattering is proposed. The approach is illustrated using a Monte Carlo simulation of polarized ep-collisions for HERA energies.

Polarization Asymmetry Zero in Heavy Quark Photoproduction and Leptoproduction

We demonstrate two novel features of the sea-quark contributions to the polarized structure functions and photoproduction cross sections, a zero sum rule and a zero crossing point of the polarization asymmetry, which can be traced directly to the dynamics of the perturbative tree-graph gluon-splitting contributions. In particular, we show that the Born contribution of massive quarks arising fro...

Non-local generalization of the axial anomaly and x-dependence of the anomalous gluon contribution

The generalization of the axial anomaly is considered. It is shown that bilocal axial quark operators on the light cone possess, beside the point-like anomaly, also a light-like anomaly. The consequences for the definition of anomaly-free quark distribution functions and the effect of both gluon coefficient function and splitting kernels in polarized deep inelastic scattering are discussed.
